York University presents Culture & Expression Research Seminar 2016:

The Culture & Expression program invites you to join its Research Seminar- Griots to Emcees: Examining Culture, Performance and Spoken Word – with poet and playwright MOTION.
 
MOTON – Toronto poet, playwright & screenwriter will be performing her aural/sonic works, exploring how spoken word is both political manifesto and embodied cultural expressions : ” power to define yourself, and power to give voice, to tell your own story and not have your story told for you or to you.”
